TO: All CCW members of the Harrisburg Diocese

FROM: Alycia M. Laureti, HDCCW President

Dear Sisters:

I hope this email finds you and your family well. Please know you are in our hearts and never far from our thoughts as we all weather the challenges of  COVID-19.

I write to inform you that after conversations and consultations, the HDCCW Board has decided to cancel the 95th Annual HDCCW Convention in Harrisburg scheduled for April 25, 2020. The Board's decision to cancel was guided by the best information we could glean regarding the COVID-19 pandemic from federal, state and local health authorities, Diocesan Officials, as well as jurisdictional travel restrictions. For those who have paid, you will receive a refund in the same way payment was made. All convention registrations have been cancelled and there is no need to contact us regarding your registration.

We have good news!  The HDCCW is looking to plan a special event later this year to bring us all together.  Please check your email and the witness in the coming months for more information.

Even more good news, our 2021 Convention is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Diocesan Center.  We hope you will be able to join us, and we can "Rejoice and be Thankful" together and find much needed joy in all the sadness. We realize that the convention is special, having met for 95 years. Still, its importance pales when weighed against the health and well-being of our members and their families. While we will miss the opportunity to catch up and spend the day together, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Finally, HDCCW is asking that all Parish and District Councils cancel any meetings/events until at least April 30th.  We are trying to be proactive and keeping our members safe.  We recommend districts and council presidents continue their planning via group emails/phone calls to their members.

We will continue to keep you updated via email, website, and Facebook, but for now follow the directives of your pastors and government officials.

Please continue to pray for those that have been affected. Know that I continue to pray for good health for all of you.

Our Lady of Good Counsel protect us!
